Andre Nieuwendam served in the United States Army Information Systems Command for 9 Years, Earning a Presidential Citation from then President Ronald Reagan.
Nieuwendam took his place in the private sector working first for The Mutual Broadcasting Company, where he helped pioneer a X.25 Packet Network for NASDAQ and financial reporting.
Nieuwendam then moved into the Financial Services Sector in 1992, where he led technology operations for the Headquarters, Data Center and 270 Branch Offices In The Northern Region of Virginia, known as the VA-MD-DC Corridor.
In 2007 Nieuwendam began his career in Insurance, first as an agent for Travelers Life and Annuities products, and in 2010, the Property and Casualty Personal Lines, Where Nieuwendam’s achievements include:
- Developing the first fully automated Cloud Based Medical Records Retrieval System for the Insurance Industry Leveraging the Alfresco ECM.
- Migrating a Mid Size P&C that Specialized in Catastrophe Exposed Properties to Full Production Cloud in 2010, The First Company To Do So.
- Designed and Developed the First Full Cycle Bill Auditing Solution for The Property & Casualty Industry.
- Leader In Third Party Enterprise Service Integrations to Include Third Party Processes into Core Claims, Agency and Underwriting Systems while limiting access based on security and work flow requirements.
Mr Nieuwendam is a regular writer and contributor to both Property & Casualty 360 and ITA Pro magazines, where he routinely writes about Big Data and Unstructured Data Reporting techniques for underwriting and claims, and appreciates service oriented, loosely couple architectures which permit various levels of integration or web services, specialized data structures, and content and data strategies for conversion, migrations and reporting in both Analytical and Predictive models.
